I love the class, though it would have been something fun to do with the kids. Especially Claire, I’ll have to remember it the next time we have some mother/daughter time. Which we haven’t done as often as I would have liked. I’ll take her once soccer is over with. That will free up the weekend for us to go. Ben is a little young to do it, but he’d at least enjoy watching. Maybe Allen would even like to join us.

I did fall in love with the ornament I ended up making. It was swirling with blue, green and silver. I’ll have to recall those colors the next time to make one similar to its like. It would look perfect hanging on our front porch, catching the light.

That night when everyone was back home, at the dinner table it felt good to have something to add. It felt even better when my husband’s arm came around me that night and cuddled me close until we both fell asleep.

The next day started as yesterday’s had, which was seemingly our new norm. I would have to talk to Allen about the new changes, but something about what Donaven said to me yesterday seemed to make me hesitate. Who knows maybe we can navigate through the murk, without kicking up more of it by involving past transgressions? That’s wishful thinking I suppose, but I want to live this tale as long as I can before I have to face it’s make-believe.

Before I can get too sucked in, Donaven is right on time. “Good morning, Sir,”

“Ah, Lana, how was the class yesterday?”

“It was a great experience, but the next time I go I’m taking the kids for sure, and Allen if he wants.”

“Wildling, be okay if Allen doesn’t share in your activities. Not everything you find appealing will appeal to him, but that doesn’t mean you have to give it up,” he states simply, as if it was simple.

“I will do my best to remember that,” I promise.

“Good, though next time you could also invite us along. I bet Sharleen would love to go, especially if Claire will be there.”

I smile, “You do have a point. Oh and your ornament turned out beautifully, I can’t wait to share it with you.”

“And I can’t wait to receive it, my Lana,” I can hear him shift in his chair, “Before I forget, Delilah has decided on Saturday night for dinner. I’ll call Allen later to let him know if you are still decided on going.”

“As far as I understand we are. ”

“Good,” he says, and he sounds pleased. I’m more nervous than thrilled at the prospect of being in the same room as Delilah. Unlike Allen, she knows what has been transpiring between Donaven and I. Yet every time I am in a room with her, she treats me with as much kindness and respect as she shows everyone else. There is no hostility, or anger when she looks my way. I’m not sure if
